Transit Load Balancing

In order to improve the efficiency of our network, and ensure performance and stability as we grow we will be making some changes to how we handle internet traffic.

Our current configuration works with active / backup routers allowing near instantaneous failover should there be a fault with a transit line, or router.

We will be changing this so that all routers and transit lines are continuously active. We will also be introducing OSPF into the network to allow the selection of the best transit line to use for a given destination, based upon the onwards routes available on each transit link.

This eliminates any switchover time should a fault occur, whilst allowing us to make better use of our connectivity.

During this window there may brief interruptions to internet connectivity, whilst we apply the changes. Regular updates will be posted to this maintenance notification, during the window and upon completion of the maintenance.
